WebQuest

Designed for Grades 10-12

Grossed out yet? If you watched the video above, you may think insects that live off of other living organisms (also known as parasitic organisms) have no place but to annoy and hurt. But you are wrong! Why? Complete my module 9 WebQuest to find out! This is a more advanced module, probably for biology or advanced biology students (grades 10-12).

In this module, we were to create a WebQuest for students to complete as a different way of presenting a lesson. We had to create the lesson and everything that goes along with it. It had to be online with outside links and assignments to go with it. This turned out to be like an online lesson!

My WebQuest is all about insects and how the parasitic ones are actually important to the environment continuation. Here, students are to go to the websites I provided to research Costa Rican parasites. They then create a persuasive PowerPoint presentation to give to the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO will then decide if they will go through with killing off all parasites that hurt humans. (The WHO is actually their classmates!). Want to learn more?
